Sussex or Wealden sandstone is a beautiful material, with its rich honey colours and muted greys. It takes some experience to work with, and an eye to work quickly in selecting the right stone for the hole you need to fill.
This was a dry stone wall and steps constructed from sandstone in Rotherfield.
This was a very simple wall created to retain a flower bed in Wadhurst.
